ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mandeville-Anthony v. Walt Disney Co.

Okay kiddo, so I'll explain this topic as if you're five years old.

Have you ever heard of Disneyland? It's a really cool place where you can ride rides, see shows and meet your favorite Disney characters! But did you know that sometimes people can get upset with Disneyland and want to sue them?

That's what happened in this case called Mandeville-Anthony v. Walt Disney Co. The Mandeville-Anthony family had a baby girl who they said was discriminated against at Disneyland because of her disability. The family said that Disneyland didn't have proper facilities for their daughter and that the staff didn't treat them nicely. So the family decided to sue Disneyland to make things right.

But, suing someone isn't easy! It's like playing a game. You have to follow all the rules or you might not win. The Mandeville-Anthony family had to prove that Disneyland did something wrong and that their daughter was hurt because of it. They also had to follow all the steps in court to make their case.

In the end, the court decided that Disneyland did not discriminate against their daughter. The family lost the case. But, that's okay because sometimes people win and sometimes people lose. The most important thing is that we always treat everyone the same no matter what.

Does that make sense kiddo? If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
