Manica (armguard)

A manica, also known as an armguard, is a special piece of armor that people wore a long time ago to protect their arms during battles. Just like how you wear a jacket to keep warm when it's cold outside, soldiers would wear a manica to keep their arms safe from getting hurt in a fight.

The manica is made of strong materials like iron or leather so it can withstand blows from swords or arrows. Sometimes it has metal plates or spikes sticking out of it to make it even more protective. It wraps around the arm and is held in place with straps or buckles, kind of like how you might put on a bracelet or watch.

Soldiers wore manicas because in battle there were a lot of sharp weapons flying around, and they needed to keep their arms safe so they could still fight. It was kind of like wearing a shield just for your arm. Nowadays, people still wear manicas for different reasons, like when they're practicing archery or shooting a bow and arrow.
