Laminar armour

Laminar armor is like wearing a bunch of really strong and tough plates of metal, but the plates are all stacked on top of each other like a sandwich.

Imagine you're making a sandwich: you start with a slice of bread on the bottom, then you add some cheese, then another slice of bread, then some ham, and so on. That's how the laminar armor works, but instead of bread, cheese, and ham, it's tough plates of metal stacked on top of each other.

The sandwich-style stacking makes the armor really strong because it spreads out the force of an attack over a larger area instead of just hitting one plate of metal. This means that if someone tries to stab you or hit you with a sword, the armor can help protect you from getting hurt.

Laminar armor was used a long time ago by soldiers who wanted to stay safe in battle, and it's still used today by some people who participate in historical reenactments or other activities where they need to protect themselves.
