Lamellar armour

Okay kiddo, do you know what armour is? It's something that soldiers wear to protect themselves in battle.

Lamellar armour is a special type of armour. It's made up of lots of small plates or scales, like fish scales, that are strung together with cords or leather. Each scale overlaps with the one next to it, which makes it strong and flexible.

People started making lamellar armour a long time ago, in places like China and Japan. They used all sorts of materials to make the scales, like animal bones, shells, metal, and even wood. The armour was really good at stopping arrows and swords, which made soldiers safer in battle.

Today, some people still make lamellar armour, but they usually use modern materials like plastic or fiberglass instead of animal bones and shells. It's still really cool to see though!
