ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Manu (Hinduism)

Manu is a very important figure in Hinduism, kind of like a super grandpa who taught us all how to behave. He wrote a big book called the Manusmriti (man-you-smree-tee), which is like a guidebook on how to live a good life, kind of like how our parents teach us manners and good behavior. The book has rules for all aspects of life, like how to behave with family and friends, how to worship the gods, how to eat and clean oneself, and how to treat animals, among other things. Manu is respected in Hinduism because he is believed to have received the guidance of the gods and passed it down to us, so we can live good lives.
