ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Marcos Rodríguez Pantoja

Marcos Rodriguez Pantoja is a man who grew up in a different way than most people. When Marcos was only seven years old, his father sold him to a goat herder who lived in the mountains. Marcos had to live there by himself and take care of the goats. He didn't have any friends or family around him.

To survive, Marcos had to learn how to live like the animals in the mountains. He learned how to hunt and fish, and even how to communicate with wolves. He learned how to make a fire with a stick and how to build shelter with branches.

For almost 12 years, Marcos lived like this. But one day, the Civil Guard found him and brought him back to civilization. Marcos had a hard time adjusting to life with other people. He didn't know how to read, write or speak like everyone else. He even had a hard time sleeping in a bed, because he was used to sleeping outdoors.

But with the help of some kind people, Marcos learned how to speak and write. He even went on to become an author and wrote a book about his life called "The Last Child of the Wilderness".

Marcos's story is a powerful reminder that we can adapt to any situation and overcome even the most difficult obstacles.
