ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Marine Stewardship Council

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of fish and seafood? Yeah? Well, there's a big group that helps make sure we don't have too much fishing going on, because then we might run out of fish to eat. That's called the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)!

So, the MSC is like a big team of people who work together to help keep fish and seafood sustainable. That means we want to keep the fish population healthy and make sure there's always enough fish for us to eat.

The MSC makes sure that fishing companies follow certain rules when they catch fish. For example, they can only catch a certain amount of fish at a time so that they don't take too much from the ocean. And if some fish are in danger, like they're getting caught too much, the MSC will tell the fishing companies to stop catching them until they're healthy again.

The MSC also helps people know which fish and seafood are good to eat. They have a special logo that goes on fish and seafood packaging so you know that it's sustainable and good for the environment.

So, the MSC is kind of like a superhero team working to protect fish and seafood so we can keep enjoying them for a long, long time!
