Marker-assisted selection

Marker-assisted selection is a process used by farmers to help choose the best plants or animals to use for breeding. It uses special markers to help decide which plants or animals have the most desirable traits, like bigger fruit or more meat. Farmers can then make sure that those plants or animals are used for breeding, so their offspring will also have those traits.
