ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Markov odometer

A markov odometer is like a regular odometer in a car, but it works using mathematics and statistics instead of counting miles or kilometers. It measures how much time a person spends completing tasks, such as driving, shopping, and working. To do this, it looks at patterns of how often a person has done each task in the past, and uses that information to predict how long they’ll take to do the same task in the future. For example, if you always take five minutes to buy groceries, the markov odometer would predict that you’ll take five minutes to buy groceries next time too.
