ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mast radiator

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a long stick that goes up into the sky. This stick is called a mast, and sometimes it can be really tall, like a big tower.

Now imagine that this mast is also a special kind of antenna. An antenna is like a magic wand that helps us pick up signals from far away.

When we use a mast as an antenna, we call it a "mast radiator." This means that the mast is sending out radio waves into the air, and those waves can travel really far.

People use mast radiators for all kinds of things, like sending signals to airplanes or ships. So, a mast radiator is really just a tall stick that helps us send important messages. Cool, huh?
