Materva

Materva is a drink from South America that people really like to drink. It's made from a plant called yerba mate, which grows in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay. The plant is dried and ground up into a powder. Then, the powder is put into a cup or a gourd and mixed with hot water. People drink it with a special straw called a "bombilla." The drink is sweet and a bit bitter at the same time. Some people compare the taste to green tea mixed with honey. Materva has caffeine, which gives people a little boost of energy. People in South America love to drink it anytime, but especially in the morning, to get ready for the day. Some people even say it's a healthier alternative to coffee, because it has less caffeine and no sugar.
