Matthew 4 is a story in the Bible about Jesus when he was a young man. This story talks about how Jesus went out into the wilderness by himself for forty days and forty nights.
While Jesus was in the wilderness, he was very hungry and tired. It was a really hard time for him because he was all alone and there wasn't any food or water around. But during this time, something really amazing happened. The devil came to Jesus and tried to convince him to do some bad things.
The devil told Jesus to turn stones into bread because he was so hungry. But Jesus didn't give in to the devil's temptation. Instead, Jesus told the devil that it is more important to trust in God and to have faith that everything would work out.
Then the devil took Jesus to the highest point of a temple and told him to jump off because he thought that God would send angels to save him. But Jesus knew that it was wrong to test God like that, so he didn't jump.
Finally, the devil showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and offered to give them to Jesus if Jesus would worship the devil. But again, Jesus didn't give in. He knew that God should be the only one to be worshiped and that you can't just take good things from others.
In the end, the devil left Jesus and Jesus was visited by angels who helped him during his hard time. This story teaches us that it's important to have faith in God and always do what is right, even when faced with difficult situations.
