May Fourth Movement

The May Fourth Movement happened a long time ago in China. It was like a big group of people who wanted to make changes in their country. They wanted their country to be modern and free from other countries telling them what to do.

The May Fourth Movement happened on May 4, 1919, when lots of students and other people came together to protest. They were really unhappy about a treaty that their government signed with other countries. They thought that the treaty was unfair because it agreed to give parts of China away to other countries.

These people wanted their own culture and traditions to be important in their country. They wanted to use their own language and not be forced to use the language of the other countries. The May Fourth Movement was also about women's rights and making sure that women had the same opportunities as men.

So, the May Fourth Movement was a really big deal in China because it showed how the people in the country wanted to make changes and be independent. It helped change the way things were done in China and made it a more modern country that could make its own decisions.
