Mayor–council government

Okay kiddo, so you know how we live in a town or city, right? And in this town, there are a lot of things that need to be taken care of like making sure the streets are clean, the parks are nice, and the police are keeping us safe.

Now, to make sure that all these things are happening, we need people who manage and make decisions about them. One way of doing this is by having a mayor–council government.

This means we have a mayor who is like the boss - the head honcho - of the town. They are in charge of making sure everything is running smoothly and taking care of any problems that come up.

But, the mayor doesn't do all of this alone. They have a group of people, called the council, who help them make decisions. Think of the council as the mayor's helpers - like a team such as the Power Rangers or Avengers.

The council is made up of people who are elected by the citizens of the town. Their job is to listen to the town's people and bring their concerns or ideas to the mayor's attention so that they can work together to make the town better.

So, in a mayor–council government, we have a leader, the mayor, who chooses a team of people, the council, to help with important decisions in the town. Together, they work to make things run smoothly and make the town a better place for everyone!
