ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Meat industry

The meat industry is all about animals and the food we eat from them. Different animals are bred in farms to become meat which is then sent to grocery stores and restaurants to be sold to people. People eat the meat to get protein, vitamins, and minerals that help keep them healthy. The animals are raised on the farms, where they are given food and taken care of until they are big enough to be slaughtered. Then the animals are killed in a humane way, cut up, and packaged into different cuts of meat. The packaged meat is sent to stores and restaurants, where people buy and eat it.
