Leather

Leather is a material that is made from animal skin. It can come from cows, pigs, sheep, or even goats.

To make leather, the skin needs to go through a process called tanning. This helps to preserve the skin and make it stronger.

First, the skin is cleaned and soaked in water to remove any dirt or bacteria. Next, it is treated with a chemical called a tanning agent. This helps to prevent the skin from decaying and makes it more durable.

Once the skin has been tanned, it is then dried, stretched, and smoothed to create a nice, even texture. Sometimes, the leather is also dyed to add color.

Leather is used to make all kinds of things, like shoes, purses, belts, and even furniture. It's a popular material because it's strong, long-lasting, and looks really nice!
