ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Media activism

Media activism is when people use different forms of media to make their voices heard to spread their ideas or to fight for a cause. These forms of media include social media, TV, newspapers, websites, radio, podcasts, and video productions.

Imagine that you wanted to tell all your friends about a fun game you discovered or your favorite thing to do. The media you would use to do this could be something like a simple text message or sharing a photo on social media.

Now, imagine that you and all your friends saw something happening in the world that you did not think was fair or right, like pollution that harms the environment or discrimination against different people. You could use the same media platforms to get the word out and raise awareness to help change or stop these things from happening.

So, media activism is when people use media to share their ideas and opinions and to try to change the world for the better. It can be a powerful tool for making positive changes and for making sure everyone's voice is heard.
