Media richness theory

Media richness theory is a way to explain how messages shared between people are more effective when they are sent using certain methods. A message is considered to be more "rich" when the methods used to send it, like video or audio, make it very clear what the person is trying to say. So if you want to be sure that someone understands your message, it is better to use a rich method of communication like video or audio, rather than something simpler like just sending a text message.
