Imagine you are in a class of 10 students and you all line up in a row from shortest to tallest. The median is the student in the middle of the line.
Now imagine you have a triangle with three sides. The median of a triangle is a line segment that connects a vertex (pointy end) of the triangle to the midpoint (halfway point) of the opposite side.
So if you draw a line from one pointy end of the triangle to the middle of the opposite side, that's the median. And you can do this for all three points on the triangle.
The median of a triangle can help you figure out some cool math things, like the area of the triangle or how the different sides are related to each other.
