A median test is a way of testing if two or more groups are different from each other. It looks at the middle number of each group and then compares them. If the middle numbers (or "medians") are very different, then it suggests that the groups are different from each other. For example, if we had two groups of numbers, the first group had the numbers 10, 20, 40, and the second group had 40, 60, 60, the median for the first group is 20 and the median for the second group is 60. This means the middle numbers are very different and suggests the groups are different from each other.
