Memory management unit

Okay kiddo, so you know how your brain remembers things like your favorite toy or your friend’s name? Well, computers also need to remember things, but they have a special helper called a memory management unit (MMU).

The MMU is like a little librarian in the computer that keeps track of all the information that needs to be stored and used by the computer. It makes sure things are in the right place in the computer’s memory so that the computer can find and access them quickly when it needs them.

Think of it like a big library with lots of books. The MMU is like the librarian who keeps track of where each book is supposed to go and makes sure they’re all organized properly.

The MMU also helps protect the computer from viruses and other bad things trying to mess with its memory. It makes sure that only the right programs and processes can access certain parts of the computer’s memory, like your parents making sure you only play with the safe toys and not the ones with small parts that might hurt you.

So, in short, the MMU helps the computer remember things by organizing and protecting its memory.
