ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Metaepistemology

Metaepistemology is when you think about how you think. It means reflecting on how we know what we know, and how we make decisions about what we believe is true. In metaepistemology, you might ask yourself questions, like: how do I decide when something is true? How do I know I can trust an expert on a certain topic? How do I use my own reasoning and experiences to decide what is right? Through metaepistemology, you can become more aware of your own thinking and decision-making process, and as a result, become better at making sure that your beliefs are accurate and well-informed.
