Mexican muralism

Mexican muralism is a type of art that was popular in Mexico many years ago. It involves painting big pictures, called murals, on walls and buildings in public places.

Imagine you are in a big park and there is a very big wall there. Someone comes and starts painting a very big picture on that wall. It is so big that it covers the whole wall! That is called a mural.

Mexican muralism was a special type of murals because they usually had pictures of important things that were happening in Mexico at that time. For example, they could have pictures of people farming or of important Mexican history events.

These murals were painted in bright colors and were very pretty to look at. They were usually made to be seen by many people and to help teach them about important things in Mexican culture and history.

Mexican muralism was important because it helped to spread important ideas to lots of people who could not read or write. People could look at the murals and learn about the history of Mexico and the struggles that the Mexican people were facing.

Many people today still appreciate Mexican muralism as a way to show important events in history and to celebrate Mexican culture.
