Michael Barnsley

Michael Barnsley is a really smart guy who likes to study math and science. He's especially interested in something called "fractals" which are really cool shapes that look like they repeat over and over again in a cool way.

Mr. Barnsley figured out a way to make computer programs that could make these fractals using a special kind of math called "chaos theory". He even wrote a book about it that lots of smart grown-ups use to learn about fractals.

Thanks to Mr. Barnsley, we can now make really cool art and designs using fractals. It's like magic, but with math!
