Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-105
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-105 is a very fancy airplane that was made in Russia a long time ago. It was called "Spiral" because it had a special shape that looked like a spiral or a corkscrew.
This airplane was very special because it was designed to go into space! That means it could fly really high and go outside of Earth's atmosphere. But it wasn't like a spaceship that you might see in a movie. The MiG-105 had wings and could fly like a normal airplane until it reached a certain height.
When it got really high, the MiG-105 would use a rocket engine to go even higher into space. Then the pilot could do experiments and look at things in space from inside the cockpit. It was like being in a very fancy flying laboratory!
Unfortunately, the MiG-105 never actually went into space. Scientists and engineers worked on it for many years, but they never got the chance to send it up there. But even though it never went to space, the MiG-105 was still a very important and interesting airplane.
