ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Military service by British royalty

So, you know how there's a family called the British royal family? They are a very special family that are in charge of England and lots of other places.

Well, some of the people in the British royal family, like Prince Harry and Prince William, have decided to join the military. The military is a special group of people who wear uniforms and protect their country.

When they join the military, they have to be trained to learn how to protect people and how to do their job properly. They might live in special places while they're working for the military, and they might have to go to different countries to protect their own country.

But, even though they're in the military, they're still part of the royal family. So, they still have to follow certain rules and they have to be respectful to everyone they meet while they're doing their job. But they also get to do really important work that helps keep their country safe.

Does that make sense, little buddy?
