Mining engineering is a type of engineering that deals with getting useful things, like minerals and metals, out of the Earth. Mining engineers plan and manage the process of finding and taking out these materials, which is called mining. Mining engineers also help design and build machines and tools that help make mining easier and safer. Mining engineers also help to figure out ways to make sure the environment is not damaged by the mining process.
