ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Minority rights

Minority rights are the rights of people who are part of a minority group in a country. A minority group is a smaller group of people, compared to the larger majority in that country. This can be the result of differences in race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, language, disability, or other characteristics. Minority rights mean that the people in a minority group have the same rights as everyone else in the country. This means they can vote, be protected by the law and be treated fairly. They should also have the same access to education, healthcare, and other services as everyone else.
