Mobile industrial robots (MIRs) are robots that can move, or "roam" around, in places like factories and warehouses. They are like a self-driving car, but instead of carrying people, they carry things. They are programmed with instructions from people to go from one place to another, pick up items, and carry them to where people need them. MIRs can also avoid obstacles to make sure nothing is damaged. That way, people don't have to do hours of hard, tiring work lifting and carrying heavy items around.
