ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Model warship combat

Model warship combat is a type of game where people build small boats that look like real warships and use them to battle against each other. It's kind of like playing with toy boats, but instead of just sailing them around in a bathtub, you have battles with other boats.

To start, you need to build your own model warship. You can use a kit, which has all the pieces you need to assemble your boat, or you can build it from scratch using your own designs. This part is like building a puzzle or putting together Legos.

Once your boat is built, you can add things like cannons, torpedoes, and other weapons. These weapons are usually made out of soft foam or plastic, so they won't hurt anybody.

When you're ready to play, you'll need a pool or another large body of water to use as your battleground. The boats are controlled by a remote control, just like a toy car or plane. You and your opponent will use the remote control to move your boats around, trying to avoid getting hit by the other person's weapons.

If a boat gets hit, it will usually be disabled or sunk. The winner is the person who still has a boat that's floating at the end of the game.

Model warship combat can be a fun and exciting way to spend time with friends and family while also learning about history and engineering. It's important to remember that it's just a game and not real warfare, so everyone should have fun and stay safe.
