A modular smartphone is a type of phone where you can change parts of it like you might do with a toy. Instead of having to buy a new phone when something stops working or if you want a certain feature, you can buy certain parts and switch them out. For example, if you want a better camera you can buy a new camera module and switch out the old one. It's like taking old Legos and building a new creation out of the same pieces.
