Modulo operation

The modulo operation is a math operation that tells you what is left over after you divide one number by another number. For example, if you divide 5 by 2 (5 ÷ 2), the answer is 2 with a remainder of 1 (5 ÷ 2 = 2 r1). That remainder is called the modulo or mod. So if you do the modulo operation of 5 ÷ 2, the answer is 1.
