Money laundering is when someone tries to hide money that is gotten from illegal activities. It is like someone trying to "clean" their money to make it look like it was made legally so they don't get in trouble with the police. The person will take the illegal money and try to put it in different places like banks, investments, or businesses so it looks like they earned it legally.
