Okay kiddo, imagine you really love eating candy, but sometimes you don't know which flavor to choose. So, you ask your mom for help, and she says, "You can only have one flavor at a time." This means you have to choose one candy flavor, and you can't mix them together.
Now, imagine there are two important guys long ago who were trying to figure out how Jesus can be both God and human at the same time. They had different opinions on this, and they couldn't agree.
One guy, named Sergius, believed that Jesus only had one will, which means he can only have one decision at a time. This is like you only choosing one candy flavor. This belief is called monothelitism.
The other guy, named Maximus, believed that Jesus had two wills, one divine will and one human will. This is like when you have two different candies, and you can choose one at a time or mix them together.
Eventually, the church leaders held a big meeting called a council to decide which belief was right. They decided that Jesus had two wills and that Maximus was correct. Monothelitism was declared as a wrong belief.
So, just like you have to choose only one candy flavor at a time, the church decided that Jesus had both a divine and human will.
