ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Moral progress

Moral progress means that people are getting better at understanding right and wrong, which is important for living together in a respectful and fair way. It means that people are learning how to act in a way that's kind, honest and responsible. For example, in the past people believed it was okay to own slaves, but now we know it's wrong and that slaves should be treated fairly and with respect. Moral progress is something that happens over time when people talk to each other, share ideas and work together. The more people know and understand each other, the more likely it is that they will agree on what's right and wrong and make sure that everyone is treated equally.
