Mormonism and Freemasonry

Mormonism is a religion that was started by a man named Joseph Smith. He said that he had a vision where God and Jesus Christ told him to start a new church. The church that he started is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Freemasonry is a group of people who have certain secret symbols and rituals that they use to help people be better members of their community. They also have a brotherhood where they look out for and help each other.

Joseph Smith was a member of the Freemasons and some of the symbols and rituals from the Freemasons are found in the Mormon church. Some people think that this means that the Mormon church is secretly connected to the Freemasons but most Mormons say that the church just borrowed some helpful things from the Freemasons.

Overall, while there are some similarities between the two groups, they are separate and distinct organizations with their own beliefs and practices.
