Mortality rate

Mortality rate is a measure of how many people in a group of people die over a certain period of time. It is usually measured as the number of people who died per 1,000 people. For example, if 800 people out of 1,000 people died in a year, the mortality rate would be 800 per 1,000 or 80%.
