Mosquito

A mosquito is a small flying insect that bites people and animals. This insect has a long skinny body with a head, two wings, and two long legs that it uses to fly. Its mouth is shaped like a tube with a pointy end, and it sucks blood through this tube to get the nutrition it needs. Mosquitoes breed in standing water and spread different kinds of diseases, such as malaria, Zika virus, and yellow fever. When mosquitoes bite an animal or person, they leave behind a tiny bump on the skin that can itch and be uncomfortable. The best way to avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes is to wear insect repellent, cover up with clothing, and stay away from areas with a lot of standing water.
