Motion is when something moves, like when you walk, or when you rollerblade. When something moves, it changes the way we look at it, because it changes where it is. For example, if you were in a garden and put a chair, it would stay in one spot. But if you move it, it changes the way it looks, and it's in a different spot. In geometry, we use motion to help us draw shapes and understand where lines, points, and shapes are in relationship to one another. Motion helps us understand how far something moves, what direction it moves in, and how long it takes for it to get there.
