ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mountain guide

Imagine you want to climb a really, really big mountain, but you don't know how to do it all by yourself. That's where a mountain guide comes in!

A mountain guide is a very smart and experienced person who knows all about climbing mountains. They can take you up to the top of the mountain safely and teach you how to climb properly so you don't fall or get hurt.

First, you and your mountain guide will plan your climb, figuring out which path to take and how long it will take to get to the top. Your guide will make sure you have all the equipment you need to climb, such as ropes, harnesses, helmets, and climbing shoes.

Once you start climbing, your guide will lead the way and show you where to put your feet and hands to climb up the mountain. They will also be watching to make sure you stay safe and don't fall down.

If you get tired or need a break, your guide will help you rest and give you some water and snacks to eat. When you finally reach the top, your guide will be there to celebrate with you and take some pictures.

A mountain guide is kind of like a really cool teacher who helps you reach new heights and teaches you about nature and the environment as you climb. It's a very important job because it keeps people safe while they explore and appreciate the beautiful mountains that nature has given us.
