Mpemba effect

The Mpemba effect is a scientific phenomenon where warm water can freeze faster than cold water. It's not something you would expect because when something is warm it usually takes a long time to cool down. But sometimes, the warm water actually cools quicker and turns into ice faster than cold water. Scientists don't know exactly why this happens, but they have some ideas. One idea is that warm water might contain less air inside it compared to cold water, so the warm water can get colder quicker without having to get rid of the air. Another idea is that warm water can evaporate more easily than cold water, so some of the heat from the water disappears into the air, making it cool down faster.
