ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Multilateration

Multilateration is a way of finding out the exact location of something by using math. It works by setting up a few receivers at different locations and then sending out a signal from a device and measuring the time it takes for the signal to reach the different receivers. By calculating the difference in the time the signal takes to reach the different receivers, you can then figure out the exact location of the device that sent the signal.
