Multimedia information retrieval

Multimedia information retrieval is a way of finding information stored in multiple types of media, like text, audio, images, or video. It can be thought of like fishing for information; computer programs search through media to “fish” out the information that you are looking for. For example, if you were looking for a certain song, multimedia information retrieval could search through your music library to give you the song you were looking for.
