ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Multipoint Control Unit

A Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) is like a telephone switchboard. It allows people in different places to talk to each other over the internet at the same time. It works by taking a video and audio stream from each person and mixing it together. That way, everyone in the conversation can see and hear everyone else. The MCU also manages the conversation by controlling which audio and video streams are sent to who, and at what volumes.
