Municipalities of Croatia

Okay kiddo, let me tell you about municipalities in Croatia. Think of them as small towns or cities within a larger region, called a county.

So, just like you have your own neighborhood where you live with your family, each municipality has its own government and community that takes care of the people who live there. They make sure that the town or city is safe, clean, and has all the things you need to live, like schools, hospitals, and stores.

In Croatia, there are 428 municipalities, and they are all a part of a bigger county. Each municipality has a mayor, who is like the leader of the town or city. They work with other officials and community members to make decisions and plan for the future of the municipality.

One of the important things that municipalities do is collect taxes from people who live there. This money is used to pay for things like fixing roads, building new buildings, and providing services to the community.

Another important responsibility of municipalities is to protect the environment and natural resources in their area. They make sure that the water and air are clean, and that the wildlife is healthy.

So basically, municipalities are small communities within a county, and they are responsible for taking care of the people who live there, collecting taxes, and protecting the environment.
