Murray–Darling steamboats

Well kiddo, a long long time ago in Australia, there were these big boats called steamboats that used to travel on a big river called the Murray-Darling. The river is very long and is made up of lots of smaller rivers joined together.

People used these steamboats to transport all kinds of things like food, clothes, and even people! They burned something called coal to create steam, which made the boat go. It was pretty cool!

But, as time went on, people stopped using these steamboats because they found other ways to transport things like cars and trains. Nowadays, you can still see some old steamboats in museums, and people who like history enjoy learning all about them.
