Mushroom management

Mushroom management is when a boss or a company doesn't tell its employees enough information about what's going on. This can make the employees feel like they're in the dark or not sure what's expected of them.

It's called mushroom management because it's like growing mushrooms - you keep the employees in a dark room and feed them a bunch of stuff, but you don't tell them what's going on. Mushrooms grow in the dark, so they don't need sunlight, and the less light they get, the more they grow.

But people aren't mushrooms, and they need light, information, and direction to do their jobs well. So, good managers make sure to communicate clearly with their employees about what's happening and give them the support and tools they need to do their jobs well. This helps everyone work together more effectively and leads to a better work environment.
