ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Myōken

Myōken is a special thing in Japan. It's like a star in the sky that people think is special and lucky. They call it the North Star, because it always stays in the same place in the sky when other stars move around.

People use myōken to help them find their way when they are traveling. They can look up at the sky and find myōken, and then use it to figure out which way is north.

People also think myōken is lucky because it's always there, no matter what. It's like a friend in the sky that will always be there for you, even when other things might change or go away. Some people even think myōken protects them from bad things.

In Japan, some temples and shrines have a symbol that looks like myōken. People think it brings them good luck and protection when they see it.
