ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

N-group (category theory)

Okay kiddo, so have you ever played with puzzles before? You know how some puzzles have different shapes and you need to figure out how to fit them together?

Well, imagine that there are lots of different puzzles, but they all have some things in common. For example, they might all have squares, triangles, and circles. We call these shapes "objects".

Now, let's say that we also notice that some shapes fit together in a certain way. For example, a square can fit next to a triangle, but a square can't fit next to another square. We call this "morphisms".

In category theory, we group together these objects and morphisms that have something in common. We call these groups "n-group" or "n-category". The "n" just means how many different ways we can combine the objects and morphisms.

So, in summary, category theory is like a big puzzle game where we group together objects and the ways we can fit them together into n-groups. It helps mathematicians study how things in different fields of math are related to each other.
