NSA warrantless surveillance (2001–07) was when the United States government secretly listened to people’s conversations without getting a warrant from a court. This means that the government was spying on people without asking permission from a judge, which is normally needed before someone’s private information can be looked at. The government was doing this without anyone knowing about it, which is why it was called "warrantless.” This kind of spying happened between 2001 and 2007 and made a lot of people very upset because it meant that their privacy was not respected.
